814,966. Photographic cameras. HEIDECKE, R., and FRANKE, H. [trading as FRANKE & HEIDECKE FABRIK PHOTOGR. PRAZISIONS-APPARATE]. Jan. 30, 1956 [March 3, 1955; Oct. 8, 1955], No. 2910/56. Class 98(1) Depth of field is indicated on the range scale carried by the focusing knob of a twin lens camera without obscuring the scale numbering and connection is made between the indicators and the objective diaphragm by means of a coupling which permits focusing movement. As shown, a bell-crank lever 20 is carried on a movable objective support and one arm co-operates with cam 17 on diaphragm ring 15. A slide 24 is mounted on shaft 23 of the focusing knob and pin 28 and is moved by pin 22 on the other arm of the bell-crank lever against tension spring 37. Slot 26 may be curved to vary the indication on focusing on a close-up object. Pins 35 and 36 co-operate with radial slots 33 in plate 29 and 30 to rotate indicators 13 and 14 about the range scale so that they cover the graduation marks of the scale except for those which include the actually adjusted depth of field The focusing knob is normally spring pressed into engagement with a disc carrying a projection so that the travel of the knob is limited by the projection striking the indicators 13, 14. To focus on a different part of the object field, the knob is withdrawn axially and turned relatively to the disc. A click-stop engages the disc when it is equi-distant from indicators 13 and 14.
