Class 17(2) In making force lasted footwear the upper 1 is sewn to the sock 2 along lines 20 - 23 and after closing the upper at 25, 26 a last is inserted. The sock is reinforced at the toe and heel by pieces 12, 13 and the toe and heel of the upper are then lasted and secured to the sock assembly by cement. A shank stiffener, toe filler and a heel are provided.
