Abstract

Polythene articles are marked with a solution of an oil-soluble dyestuff in a volatile organic solvent which may contain a compatible thickening agent such as polyisobutylene. The solution may be applied by brushing, dipping, silkscreen printing, stencilling, or printing, and the marked area then heated to 100-120 DEG C., e.g. with a hot air torch or a gas flame.
