Abstract
813,100. Bedsteads. VONO Ltd. Nov. 25, 1957 [Oct. 10, 1957], No. 31631/57. Class 52(2) Relates to folding beds having a rectangular mattress frame 11 and head and foot bows, at least the head bow consisting of uprights 20 connected by a crossmember and being attached to the frames by links 14 pivoted at 15, 22 to the frame and uprights respectively, the uprights having lugs 23 cooperating with a flange of the end frame members 12 to hold the bed in erected position and to prevent relative longitudinal movement between the bow and the frame. According to the inventions lateral movement is prevented by the uprights embracing the ends of the side members of the frame. The frame and bows are made of L-section, metal. For transport, each bow is provided as a length of stock shorter than frame 11 and formed with V- shaped notches where the user is to bend it to form the uprights and cross-member. Instead of being formed like the head bow, the foot may be carried on removable or foldable legs.
