Abstract
813,007. Stretching fabrics. SCREEN PROCESS SUPPLIES Ltd. Jan. 8, 1958 [Jan. 14, 1957], No. 1426/57. Class 42 (1). [Also in Group XVI] Apparatus for stretching material to a silk screen printing frame comprises means for releasably securing a member in rotatable manner parallel to one side of the frame, means for releasably securing the screen printing material to the member and means for rotating the member while the material is secured thereto. To each of the sides 1b, 1c of the screen frame 1, Figs. 1 and 2, there is secured by means of a U-shaped abutment member 7 and a screw 8, a L-section clamp 3 having a rotatable bearing 4 for receiving a square section bar 5, the bearings having ratchets to prevent rotation of the bar counter-clockwise in Fig. 2. The screen 2 is secured to the side la of the frame and the free edge of the screen is passed round and secured to the bar 5 by a U-section channel member 9. The bar is then rotated by a handle 6. The screen is then secured to the side 1c and the clamps to the sides 1a, 1d, and the operation repeated in the transverse direction, using a shorter member 9.
