813,001. Compressed air brakes. FABBRICA ITALIANA MAGNETI MARELLI S.p.A. Nov. 28, 1956 [Nov. 28, 1955; Feb. 11, 1956], No. 36443/56. Class 103 (1). A distributer valve for compressed air braking systems for automobiles, having a number of independently operated brake lines, and wherein there are provided in a unitary assembly a number of pistons 7, 8, each provided with check valves Vr1, Vr2, inlet valves Vi1 and Vi2 and discharge valves Vs1 and Vs2 equal to the number of braking sections, is characterized in that a number of elastic members are introduced into the assembly such that part at least of such members, for instance the spring M1, is sensitive to the load or stress transmitted by way of a suitable link 2 from the brake pedal to the lever 5 for actuating the distributer. A second part, such as the springs M<SP>1</SP>1 and M<SP>1</SP>2, is coupled with the piston 7 or 8 in each section in such a manner as to influence the stroke of the piston and a third part, such as the rocker 4, associated with the actuating lever 5, provides distribution according to a certain law of pressure variation to at least one section of the distributer, all the elastic members M1, M<SP>1</SP>1 and M<SP>1</SP>2 being arranged in such a manner that they can be interchanged individually or together whence a certain distributer valve can be made to open under any load or stroke with advance application of one brake line over the other, merely by the introduction or replacement of one or more of the elastic members. In Fig. 2 there is shown a practical embodiment of the invention in which the springs M<SP>1</SP>1, M<SP>1</SP>2 are fitted between the arms of rocker 4 and recesses within the pistons 7 and 8 in a manner in which they may be easily changed, and a spring M1 for adjusting the load, is inserted in a space 13 in the block 14 so as to act on the fulcrum of the lever 14.
