Class 126 [Also in Group XII] The perforated ceramic sections 9, 10, Fig. 3, of a burner plate for a gas-fired heating apparatus are connected by cement 11 inserted into groove 9a, 10a in the edges of each section. The slot 17 between the edges allows expansion of the heating surface of the plate in order to provide an evenly glowing surface. A similar connection is used between the sections and their cast iron casing. Corrugated sections 1, Fig. 4, have bores 12 opening into the crests 14 and troughs 15 of the heating surface 13 in order to heat said surface by radiation and by the the hot gases passing through the bores without undue stresses being caused.
