Abstract
812,050. Shutters; blinds. RAMELLA, M. May 22, 1957 [Oct. 9, 1956; Oct. 18, 1956], No. 16253/57. Class 20(3) A slat, preferably formed of a thermoplastic synthetic resin, for shutters or blinds, particularly roller type, comprises a hollow case 1 reinforced by at least one element 4 comprising an elongated strip 5 having a pair of splayed arms extending outwardly from each of the upper and lower edges thereof which is located in position by ribs or projections a, b, c on the inner, opposed faces of the main longitudinal walls 2, 3 of the case 1, so that the stem 5 extends transversely between the faces and the or each element 4 forms a bracing between the walls 2, 3. To allow for deviations in the shape of the hollow case 1 during manufacture the arms d, e of the element 4 are always located astride the rib a but the arms f, g, may be inserted between the ribs b and c as shown in Fig. 3 or astride either rib b or rib c. The slats 1 may be formed with only two ribs 7 (Fig. 7) and may be used in combination e.g. alternately with slats 8 of known form with integral reinforcements 9.
