811,748. Dashpots; rubber springs. METALASTIK Ltd. May 28, 1957 [July 31, 1956], No. 23614/56. Class 108(3) A vibration damper consists of a rubber mass to absorb low-amplitude vibrations and a combined hydraulic damper for shock loads. A nave-member 1 is embedded in a rubber mass 2 for securing it to a base member by a flange 3 embedded in the rubber at 4. A hydraulic chamber comprises a disc 5 bonded to the rubber mass 2 within the flange 3, a dish member 6, and a closed cup 8. A flexible diaphragm 10 having an orifice 11 is clamped at its edge between flanges 7, 9. The whole chamber is filled with fluid and shock loads only actually force fluid through the orifice 11.
