Abstract
811,662. R.F. couplings. MARIE, G. R. P. July 2, 1956 [July 4, 1955], No. 20361/56. Class 40 (7). [Also in Group XL (b)] A multi-channel microwave filter and aerial assembly for the simultaneous reception and transmission of two receiving and two transmitting channels comprises an aerial 13 at the end of a square waveguide 12, to adjacent sides of which are connected rectangular waveguides 171, 172 for transmitting channels I and II, and rectangular waveguides 24, 242 for receiving channels I and II. The rectangular waveguides are connected to the waveguide 12 by directional couplers (see Group XL (b)) comprising circular cavity resonators 25<SP>1</SP>, 25<SP>2</SP>, 27<SP>1</SP>, 27<SP>2</SP> adapted to resonate at the mean frequency of the channel passing therethrough. The energy passing through the guides 17<SP>1</SP>, 17<SP>2</SP> is transmitted from the aerial 13 with a direction of polarizing 3, whilst energy polarized in a perpendicular direction 4 is received by the aerial 13 and passes to the waveguides 24<SP>1</SP>, 24<SP>2</SP> and thence to receivers.
