Abstract
809,551. Welding by pressure. VLTAVSKY, M. March 9, 1956 [March 10, 1955], No. 7458/56. Class 83 (4). [Also in Group XXIX] The cylinder 7 having a piston for raising and lowering the table of an hydraulic welding press is coupled to the feed line for raising the hydraulically - operated ram 3 of the press. During intervals between the operation of the press, clamps 2 are released and the table may be lowered by its weight on the piston forcing the liquid into the lower chamber 15 and raising the ram. If at the end of the upward movement of the ram the table still requires lowering an electromagnet 16 is energized to move a valve slide 8 upwardly and to allow the liquid to pass from the feed line to a reservoir 13. If the table is to be raised the pump 11 is started and the valve slide lowered so that once the ram has reached its uppermost position the table is raised by pressure liquid in the cylinder 7. The clamps 12 secure the table in any position to which it has been adjusted.
