Class 79(3) A reach truck is provided with an articulated unit 6 coupled to a frame including outrigger members (as 1) and a mast assembly 7, the articulated unit having mounted thereon all the truck controls comprising an electric driving motor (not shown and battery 16, steering linkage, a hydraulic unit 17 for operating the mast assembly, and the driver's platform, the articulated unit 6 being supported on two wheels (as 14) one of which is driven by the motor, the other constituting an idler, the articulation between the unit 6 and outrigger frame being about a generally horizontal axis. The truck controls are all mounted on a platform 10 pivoted at 13 to a cross piece 3 of the truck frame.
