Abstract

809,206. Baths. COOKE, I. H. E. Sept. 30, 1957 [Oct. 2, 1956], No. 29983/56. Class 26. A lining 1 for substantially the whole of the surface of a bath 3 is furnished with suction cups 6 for securing it to the bath surface and is resiliently constructed so that it becomes substantially indented under pressure by the user. It extends over the top edges of the bath round the sides and one end thereof. It is preferably of sponge rubber or similar resilient plastic material and may have a surface impervious to water. The inner surface may carry marks indicating the points at which pressure is to be applied to the suction cups. Small weights 7 assist to prevent the lining floating. The upper edge of the lining is secured by tapes 8 tied round each top 9 and by rigid hooks 10 fixed to the lining and engaging the peripheral flange of the bath. A hood or hoods of sponge rubber, preferably integral with the lining 1, may cover the taps 9.
