Abstract

808,098. Unloading storage chambers from below. FULLER CO. March 12, 1957 [April 18, 1956], No. 8114/57. Class 78 (1) and 78 (4). [Also in Group XXXII] A device for unloading storage bins from below has a materialreceiving casing 19 supported by means which press it against the discharge opening of the bin it is to unload. As illustrated the container 19 has two flanged openings 15, 151 provided with resilient seals 16, 16<SP>1</SP> which are pressed upwardly against flanges on the gates 17, 17<SP>1</SP> of a pair of hoppers 12, 121 forming the body of a vehicle. The device is located below the hoppers by a winged nut 39 engaging lugs on the device and on the hopper 121 and the upward pressure is furnished by the suspension for the wheels 42 which are carried by bell-cranks 44 biased by hydraulic or pneumatic rams 51 connected to a constantpressure accumulator fed from a manuallyoperated pump or from a motor-driven gear pump (not shown). The casing 19 includes an air-assisted gravity conveyer extending from one end to the other to feed a vaned rotor disposed in a casing 21 and feeding a pneumatic conveyer line 26 in the usual way. The pneumatic supply to the apparatus is connected to an inlet 34 and is distributed by valves which control its admission to the air-assisted conveyer, to the pneumatic line 26, and to lines which couple to the air inlets of air-assisted conveyers on the vehicle. The vehicle to be unloaded may be of the type described in Specification 677,890 and the air-assisted conveyers may be similar to those shown in Specification 674,395. The rotary feeding device 21 may be similar to that described in Specification 724,719.
