Class 64(3) A steam condenser 6 bolted rigidly to the exhaust of a steam turbine 4 coupled e.g. to a generator 5, is supported by a pontoon or floats 7 which are located in a sump 8 below the condenser, the sump being filled with a liquid such as water to a depth sufficient to render the condenser assembly wholly or partially buoyant. Spring supports may supplement the floating supports.
