Abstract

<PICT:0805373/IV (a)/1> A group of threads 7, spaced apart from one another, is guided by a tensioned coil spring 1 of corrosion-resisting steel having clamping elements 2, 3 at each end, one of which is movable longitudinally of the spring, and an external carrier 6 which is resistant to bending and against which the spring 1 bears over substantially the whole of its length. The clamping elements 2, 3 may permit rotation of the spring througg 360 degrees to traverse the threads 7. The spring 1 may be cylindrical or conical and may act to tension, deflect or remove surplus fluid from the threads 7.
