Abstract
804,635. Glass compositions ; glass and metal seals. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. March 11, 1957 [March 15, 1956], No. 8207/56. Class 56. Glass composition for forming glass to metal seals particularly with both molybdenum and with an alloy of iron 53-55, nickel 28-30 and cobalt 16-18 in percentages by weight for electrical devices, has the following ranges in percentages by weight : SiO 2 60-65; B 2 O 3 15-17À5; Al 2 O 3 5-10; Na 2 O 0-2; K 2 O 0-4; Li 2 O 2À5-3À5; BaO 2À5-4À5; ZnO 0-4; CaO 0-2, SrO 0-2; F 0-1 ; the total aklali metal oxide being 3-6À5; and the total divalent metal oxide being 5-8. Preferably the ZnO is in the range 1À5-4.
