Abstract
804,200. Amplitude modulation systems. SPERRY RAND CORPORATION. Dec. 31, 1954, No. 37867/54. Class 40 (5). A waveguide system includes an internallymounted antenna which is rotated to modulate the microwave signals. As shown, the antenna 40 is rotated by motor 68 inside the circular waveguide 36. The input section, 12, is connected to 36 through the coaxial section 14 and " door - knob " transition 10. The output from 36 is provided at the rectangular waveguide section 46, 48, is modulated at the frequency of rotation of 40 and the energy peaks in the respective output signals are phased in time quadrature. Direct coupling between 46 and 48 is reduced by a septum 78.
