803,938. Sawing. DEBOURDEAU, P. May 14, 1957 [May 18, 1956], No. 15305/57. Class 145. A reciprocating saw blade is of hollow construction to form an interior channel 12 for the evacuation of sawdust. The blade may be made from a flat strip 1, Fig. 1, of metal which is perforated at 2 so that, on folding it to a triangular shape, Fig. 4, triangular projections 3 form side-cutting teeth and portions 5 between the projections 3 form planing teeth ; the teeth are bevelled on both sides in order to cut in both directions and may be given a curved crosssection in order to provide rake angles. In the modification shown in Fig. 8, a metal strip 13 is welded to a tube 14 having cut-outs formed to produce side-cutting teeth 15 and planing teeth 16. When the blade is driven by an engine, the exhaust may be used to blow the sawdust from the channel 12.
