803,638. Surgical douches. KNOCH, M. H. July 18, 1957 [Aug. 3, 1956], No. 22792/57. Class 81 (2). A bulb - type vaginal douche has a narrow bore discharge tube surrounded by a chamber which receives the liquid after injection, so that it may be used repeatedly. The bulb 1 discharges through a tube 7, the outlet 9 of which lies in a recessed slot 12 in the head of the syringe. The surrounding chamber 2 also has an opening 10 leading to this slot so that liquid can enter it therethrough while displaced air is permitted to escape through vent holes 6. The volume of the receiving chamber is made at least equal to the combined capacities of the tube 7 and bulb 1, so that no overflowing can occur. When the bulb is released after an injection, the liquid is drawn back into the bulb through apertures 10 and 9.
