802,578. Floor covering. BOSTON WOVEN HOSE & RUBBER CO. Sept. 5, 1955, No. 25399/55. Drawings to Specification. Class 140. An elastomeric floor covering presenting a corrugated weaving surface comprises a base ply of elastomeric material of uniform colour which may be of rubber or a plastic and having an ornamental surface design layer thereon which includes in its pattern a multiplicity of lines corresponding in direction with the crosses of the corrugations said lines being of similar colour to the said underlying ply. As the surface design layer is worn away through usage the underlying base ply is revealed, but, due to its colour, merges with the remaining surface design and tends to obscure the wear pattern.
