Abstract
801,976. Magnetic amplifiers. COMPAGNIE INDUSTRIELLE DES TELEPHONES. Nov. 13, 1956 [Nov. 14, 1955], No. 34698/56. Addition to 791,372. Class 40 (9). In a magnetic amplifier relay device of the type described in the parent Specification the. response characteristic is improved, by the provision of a condenser across the auto-selfexcitation rectifier. As shown, the circuit consists of an A.C. source 14 feeding the winding 1 and resistance 5 through oppositely poled rectifiers 7, 6, the combined current being smoothed by condenser 8 and inductance 9, rectified at 11 and fed thence to the load 12 via a feedback winding 2. Without the condenser 17 the relationship between the load current Is and the control ampere-turns NcIc (applied to coils 3, 4) is given by C1, Fig. 4. The remainder of the curves show the characteristics for various values C3 ... C5 of the condenser 17 one of which, C4, gives a substantially horizontal portion to the curve at a current value substantially higher than the turn-over value for the curve C1.
