Abstract

801,673. Reciprocating pumps. CANDY FILTER CO., Ltd., and THOMAS, W. D. J. Feb. 8, 1957 [May 16, 1956], No. 15258/56. Class 102(1). In a reciprocating pump in which the stroke is varied by means of a push pull rod 1, the rod is threaded into a hollow shaft 5 held against axial movement and rotatably by means of a hand wheel 8. A worm 11 on the shaft 5 engages a wheel 12 freely mounted on a shaft 13. Indication members 14 are positioned on either side of the wheel 12 and by means of a collar 17, spring 18 and nut 19 the wheel 12 frictionally drives the members 14 and shaft 13. A transmitter 26 for a remote electrical indicator is driven from the end of the shaft 13 which may be pre-set by means of a slot 20 ; provision is also made to pre-set the members 14 which are engraved on the periphery to indicate stroke length or related information.
