Abstract

800,855. Pottery manufacture. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. July 29, 1955 [July 30, 1954], No. 22305/54. Class 87(1) Apparatus for forming a non-circular hollow ceramic article comprises a mould 9 carrying a trammel plate 8 having a contour corresponding to the required contour of the formed article, and a radially adjustable scraper 1; the radial movement of the scraper is controlled by a stop 7 mechanically connected with the scraper and held in contact with the cam-type edge of the trammel plate by means of a tension spring 11. In use, the mould and trammel plate may rotate about the axis A-A while the frame member 2 supporting the scraper is stationary, or vice-versa.
