Abstract

277,045. Johnson, E., Farr, C., and Boutton, Ltd., B. March 29, 1926. Copying and reproducing mechanism. - An oval or other non-circular article of pottery is produced by means of a holding chuck having two sets of slides running at right-angles to one another and capable of initial adjustment relatively to a rotating spindle to vary the shape of article produced. One of a series of non-rotating members S, selected to suit the particular shape of article to be produced, is bolted to a sliding plate h adjusted in the framing by the hand screw m relatively to the mould spindle b. A hollow frame R rotates round the member S and has a sliding connection with adjustable guides s in the chuck K. The latter has a second sliding connection in a direction at right-angles to the former one, with a plate p fixed on the mould spindle b. The chuck K carries the mould carrier K<2>. which is provided with one or more flats to prevent relative movement between the carrier and the plaster mould. In a modified form the hole in the member R is octagonal. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 9538/08.
