Class 120(1) The top feed grid of a rectilinear or French comb comprises two end members B adapted to be bolted or screwed, through holes b<SP>1</SP>, to the ends of the bottom grid, the inner faces of members B having recesses b wherein grid bars C are detachably held, so that a broken bar can be replaced by unfastening one of the end members B. Preferably the recesses b and bars C are circular in cross-section, and the top surfaces of members B extend above bars C so as to take the impact of the descending gill plate.
