A rail or chair pad comprises a flat plate of elastomeric material provided on both faces with crooked or sinuous grooves 3, 4 and each groove comprises a series of groove elements which are alternately inclined in opposite directions. The grooves 3, 4 are alternately disposed on opposite sides of the plate. Specification 652,305 is referred to.
