Abstract

797,888. Clamp fastenings: screw fastenings. MENGERINGHAUSEN, M. Sept. 10, 1954 [Sept. 10, 1953], No. 26334/54. Class 44 [Also in Group X] A scaffold clamp, consisting of a pair of hingedly connected half sleeves 27, 28, arranged to be tightly closed upon the adjacent ends of a pair of axially aligned scaffold tubes 24, 25 by means of a screw and nut 31, 32, is provided with a plurality of circumferentially distributed screw threaded bores 36 for the reception of screw-threaded shanks 28 on the ends of one or more additional and radially disposed scaffold tubes 37. Complementary formations, such as projections 29 and grooves 4 are provided on the co-operating surfaces of the half-sleeves and scaffold tubes to prevent axial displacement of the tubes clampedwithin the half sleeves. The complementary formations may comprise projecting pins -or rings engaging blind or open holes and circular or helical grooves in one or 'both members Figs. 6-14 (not shown)
