Abstract

796,940. Winding layouts for alternators. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. June 8, 1956 [June 10, 1955], No. 17826/56. Class 35. Each phase winding of a polyphase alternator consists of three parallel circuits 1, 2, 3 in different slots and in successively interchanged relative positions so that the circulating currents are kept very low. The parallel circuits are arranged in two oppositely-poled phase belts A<SP>1</SP> and All, respectively, which are in " mirror image " relationship. Each phase belt consists, in the form shown, of four series-connected coils, but more may be used.
