Abstract

796,301. Riding saddles. SHELDON (WALSALL), Ltd., G. March 6, 1956 [March 11, 1955], No. 7149/55. Class 62. A saddle tree is made from two separate parts comprising a front arch 1, and a cantle 2 with integral bars 3, each part being formed from laminated wood sheet which is pressed into shape between electrically-heated dies. The ends of the bars are fitted in recesses 5 in the arch by screws and glue, and the joints may be reinforced by metal plates 12 which carry the fittings 13 for the stirrup straps.
