Class 29 A refrigerator evaporator is made by securing a coil 12 to a flat plate and by bending the plate so as to form a box-like freezing compartment F and a smaller icemaking compartment C. The outlet 32 of the coil may be connected to a plate evaporator depending into a storage compartment from which the freezing compartment is insulated. The evaporator is bent so that the coils are located inside the icemaking compartment and outside the freezing compartment, and the plate is fluted to seal the ice-making compartment walls at the exit points of the coil.
