Abstract
794,745. Digital electric code converters. AUTOMATIC TELEPHONE & ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. July 13, 1956 [Aug. 6, 1955], No. 22698/55. Drawings to Specification. Class 40(1). In a digital-to-digital code converter a 2 out of 5 representation of a decimal digit is converted into a 1 out of 10 representation. The 2 out of 5 representation is applied to the converter in the form of two positive markings on five leads V, W, X, Y, Z, a positive " convert " pulse is applied to a lead D, and as a result one of ten leads 1, 2 ... 9, 0 is positively marked thereby representing the decimal digit in a 1 out of 10 code. The converter is reset, i.e. all the cold cathode discharge tubes are rendered non- conducting, by removing the H.T. supply, and the particular 2 out of 5 code used is tabulated in the Specification.
