794,716. Corsets. SHARP, E. C. Feb. 7, 1957 [Feb. 14, 1956], No. 4220/57. Class 141 A corset comprises a back panel 1, side panels 8 and overlapping hip panels 21, a main front panel 10 attached to one side panel 8, and a lower elastic front panel 24 connected by hooks and eyes 26 to the hip panels 21 and at 25 to the main front panel 10. The lower edge of each side panel 8 slopes downwardly towards the front panel 10, the lower edge of which includes a central horizontal portion between similarly sloping side portions. Stiffeners are arranged in pockets 2, 3 and 17. The corset may have a breast-supporting portion 13 or may terminate at the line 28.
