Abstract

793,579. Electric heating panels and screens. WODEN TRANSFORMER CO.. Ltd., and MITCHELL. H. W. March 22. 1956 [Dec. 8, 1955], No. 35228/55. Class 39(3) Current supply bars which are secured to a mesh heating panel or screen have a plurality of points along their length for connection to the secondary winding of a supply transformer, the even voltage thus produced along each bar ensuring an even flow of current across the panel or screen. As shown, the end a of a mesh panel 1 has a current supply bar 6 provided with flexible connectors 7 secured at spaced intervals, the other ends of the connectors being connected via a bar 5 to one terminal of the secondary winding of a transformer 4. The end b of a similar panel 2 is connected in like manner to the other terminal of the transformer winding and the two panels are connected at their other ends c, d, by further current supply bars, flexible connectors 7, bars 5, and a cross bar 9. In Fig. 3 (not shown), only one mesh screen is provided, each end being connected, via a supply bar having a plurality of connecting points, to a terminal of the transformer. The heater may be used for drying paint or for drying material as it passes over the heater.
