Abstract

793,540. Travelling-band filters. FISONS, Ltd. July 6, 1956 [April 7, 1955], No. 10182/55. Class 46. [Also in Group XXX] A travelling-band filter comprises a carrier belt formed by layers of fabric 2 and rubber 1 such that no fabric is present in the area where the filtration hole 7 is made. The edges of the belt have longitudinal bars 4 and 5 forming a trough and ridges 6 are formed across the belt to assist filtration. A strip of rubber 9 covers the filtration hole 7 to prevent the filter cloth being sucked down. The belt is divided into a series of trays by ridges, similar to 6, extending completely across the belt. Each tray may be provided with more than one filtrate hole 7.
