Abstract
793,158. Irradiation apparatus. RUMMERT, K. H. Dec. 20, 1956, No. 38791/56. Class 98(1) In a device for irradiation of body cavities, the wall of an inflatable bulb carries radio-active material. As shown, a radioactive layer 4 lies between the walls 2, 3 of the bulb. A tube 6, lying within a tube 5, passes through the bulb and provides drainage for the cavity, while air or other fluid (which may be such -as to screen the radiation), is led into the bulb through tube 5 to inflate it. The radio-active material may be restricted to a part of the bulb wall, the middle or limits of which may be marked by a substance which absorbs X-rays.
