Abstract
The holder for the radio active source consists of a tube (11) leading outside the body into which teh radio active material is fed and at least one inflatable balloon (13, 14) which encompasses the tube and acts as a spacer, holding the radio active source firmly in position. Pref. the balloon is made of flexible, non-expanding material. An additional balloon (15) is fastened to the inside of the tube (11) and once in position is filled, from outside the body with a shielding fluid against the radiation source, when full, it extends right across the end of the tube 11. Balloon sections (13, 14) are separate balloons with a common dividing wall and individual hose connections. The radiation source is provided in the lower section.
