Class 68(1) In a mineral-mining machine the gear head 11 of a shearing cutter of the rotary drum or disc type 15 is arranged in the line of travel of the machine behind a gear head 12 for an overcutting chain 14 in order to keep the overall height of the machine to a minimum. The drive from the motor of the machine may be direct to each gear head or to the first gear head by way of the second gear head. The jib of the overcutting chain may be mounted on a telescopic turret 10.
