Class 44 '[Also in Group XXXVII] A flame-proof enclosure comprises a body A and a cover B having side flanges 2, 3 formed with projections 4, the edge of which facing the surface 5 form a wedging surface co-operating with similar wedging surfaces on projections 6 on the body A. The flanges 2, 3 also carry cylindrical members 8 which are rotatable by handles 7 and carry eccentric pins 11. To apply the cover to the body, the handles are turned vertically upwards and the pins 11. passed between pressure pads 12, 13 onthe body, until the cover surface 5 engages joint surfaces 1 on the body. Handles 7 are then rotated into the vertically-downward position whereby the pins and pads co-operate to move the cover downwards so that the wedging surfaces draw cover and body firmly together.
