843,360. A facial protection device. FLEMING Ltd., J. & R., WORTH, C. J., and FLEMING, R. A. Sept. 10, 1958 [Sept. 11, 1957], No. 28710/57. Class 97(1) A facial protection device comprises ventilation holes located in one or both sides of troughs formed in the material of the device and with one side of their bases facing directly towards the interior and the other towards the exterior of the device. In the goggles shown in Fig. 9 the front piece is rebated round the edge to form a sunken portion 18 which is held between two parallel flanges 20, 21 round the front edge of the surround 19 by means of interlocking pieces 24, 25. The surround comprises troughs 29, 28 with a series of holes 31 situated on each side directly opposite each other and entirely above the level of the base of the trough. The goggles are held in place by straps 33 and the flange 30 and flaps 22, 23 are urged against the users face. Projections 32 may be formed on the sides of the troughs between adjacent holes to strengthen them.
