Abstract
791,389. Packaging-machines. WANG, H. June 13, 1956 [June 16, 1955], No. 18318/56. Class 94(1). A flattened tube 2 of bag material is fed upwardly from a roll 1 and is distended prior to filling by a ring 3 of magnetic material which floats in an alternating magnetic field created by electro-magnets 4. The tube is fed upwardly in steps by rollers 10 or a vertically reciprocable frame 5 fitted with electro - magnetically - operated or spring grippers 6. When the tube has been fed to the position shown, it is sealed transversely by reciprocable jaws 7 to form a bag, a charge of material is deposited in the bag and the frame 5 is collapsed to close the upper end of the bag prior to its sealing by reciprocable jaws 8. The bag is then severed from the tube by a knife 9 and transferred to a delivery conveyer after release of the grippers 6. The frame 5 may be adjusted to suit tubes of different diameter.
