Class 139 An alarm clock has a front plate 10, Fig. 1, made of a synthetic material andprovided with a forwardly extending rim 10a, 10b, 10c, which supports the dial 11 and on which the glass 12 and rear housing 13 are snap fitted. Integral with the plate 10 are posts 10d which support the rear movement plate 18 which may be of plastic material. The clock supporting feet 10f, 10g, are integral with the plate 10 and project through slots in the rear cover 13. The dial 11 is secured against rotation by the engagement of projections 11a with depressions 10l on the surface 10b. The plastic glass 12 has a rim 12a which snaps on to the surface 10c of the rim of the plate 10. A recess 12c in the glass 12 serves for centring the dial 11. The edge of the glass may be stepped as at 12e and given a metallic coating. The surface 10c of the rim of the plate 10 has a groove 10i which receives a projection or projections 13a of the rear cover 13. The bell 14 is screwed or riveted to the inside of the rear cover 13. The alarm stopping button 15 may be located in a depression of the cover 13, Fig. 3, (not shown). The motion work and the alarm snail cam are located between the central part of the plate 10 and the dial 11. The minute wheel arbor mav be integral with the plate 10 and the gears may also be of plastic material. The going train and the alarm train may be driven by a common mainspring, Fig. 7 (not shown).
