791,107. Moulding synthetic foam floats &c. ELLERBROCK, H. H., and ELLERBROCK, K. Sept. 12, 1956, No. 27866/56. Class 87(2). [Also in Groups XXI and XXXIII] A buoyant or floating member such as a float or raft is made by filling a lower mould part 1b with foamable polystyrol &c., positioning a perforated stiffening tube 3 on the polystyrol, placing an upper mould part 1a on the lower mould part, inserting steam pipes 5 and screwing them into connections 4 on the tube, filling the upper mould part with polystyrol through openings 7, closing said openings, placing the closed mould in a heating vessel, supplying steam through pipes 5 to foam the polystyrol, removing pipes 5, opening the mould, filling the holes left by pipes 5 with foam material and reheating in the heating vessel.
