Class 100(2) A machine for printing in several colours on articles of non-porous plastic material of cylindrical or frusto-conical comprises rotatable means for supporting the articles arranged radially about a member rotatable about a vertical axis and intermittently up and down so as to be brought under and moved against printing members also arranged radially about said axis. The mandrels 4 are spaced at 45 degrees on a turret 3 carried on a hollow shaft 20 rotated intermittently through a Maltese Cross on like mechanim 22 driven by a motor M through a speed reducer R, which also rotates continuously a shaft 5 inside the shaft 20. A grooved portion of the shaft 5 carries a vertically slidable bevel gear 6 which rests on the turret and rotates the mandrels about their own axis through bevel gears 7. The shaft 5 also carries a helical gear 8 which drives gears 9 on shafts 10, carrying gears..1'1 which mesh with gears 12 on the shafts of printing rollers 2. The gear ratios are arranged to cause equal peripheral speeds of the printing rollers and mandrels. The shaft 20 is urged upwards by a spring 17 and lever 18,- and is held down by wheels 14 on extensions 13 of a plate 15 whose angular position is adjusted by a hand-wheel 16. When the mandrels are below the printing-rollers, grooves in the upper surface of the turret 3 are aligned with the wheels 14, so that the shaft 25 and the mandrels rise slightly to bring the articles into contact with the printing rollers.
