Abstract
790,047. Lay figures. LEVINE & SON, Ltd. July 27, 1955 [Aug. 5, 1954], No. 22793/54. Class 52(5) A garment display device comprises a garment-carrying portion 19 and a bendable "stay-put" arm 1, one end of the arm being co-axially secured in a cup 9 having screw and nut connection 10, 11 with the carrier 19 and the other end of the arm being secured in a socket 4 which is directly engaged with a support 33 (Fig. 4) or houses a spigot 13 (Fig. 2) by which the arm is secured to a support 17. The arm consists of a core of ductile metal 2 enclosed in a helically coiled spring 3 and is rigidly secured in the socket 4 which has diametrically opposed apertures 6 receiving the spigot 13 or support 33 so that the arm can be set in a variety of positions. The garment carrier 19 is made entirely of light weight synthetic plastic or has bust forms 25 of resilient material such as rubber recessed at the back to key detachably on blocks 27 secured to uprights 20 by cranked metal strips 28.
