Abstract

788,415. Billy cans. THOMPSON ALUMINE, Ltd. Aug. 30, 1956 [Nov. 26, 1955], No. 33941/55. Class 66. The lid 4 of a billy can has a U-shaped wire handle with cranked ends that pivot in holes 7 in a pair of lugs 2 on the lid, the lugs having cammed projections 2a past which the handle 5 must be forced when the handle is moved to the position shown in dotted lines so as to support the lid, when inverted, for use as a frying pan. When not required, the cranked ends of the handle are manually drawn apart to by-pass the cammed portions 2a and the handle 5, by virtue of its shape, can then be folded over on to the top of the lid as shown in full lines in Fig. 1. The lugs 2 are on a fitting fixed to the vessel 1.
