Abstract

787,404. Screw jacks. METALLIFACTURE Ltd. Feb. 9, 1956 [Feb. 18, 1955], No. 4954/55. Class 78 (3). The lead screw 6 of a bipod jack depending from a casing 14 supported by struts 1, 2 is arranged at an agle to the common plane of the struts. The screw is housed in a slotted sleeve 7 secured to the casing 14 and is provided with a threaded bush 4 having a load-engaging spigot 3. Rotation of the screw is effected by a bevel gear at its upper end co-operating with a bevel gear on a shaft cranked into the form of a handle.
