786,697. Musical drums. PREMIER DRUM CO., Ltd. Jan. 27, 1956, No. 2815/56. Class 88 (2). In a side drum a snare 1 is attached at each end to a hook 3 which engages a pin 4 at a single point of contact so that when the snare is tensioned the hook can adjust its position relative to the pin. A bracket 5 shown in Fig. 1 is of channel section to carry a pin 4 between its side walls and is pivoted at 6 to a post 7 mounted on a slidable bar controlled by a lever 10 which can engage the snare 1 with the drum skin 2a in known manner. The bracket may be moved outwards about pivot 6 by means of screw 9 to tension the snare. At the opposite side of the drum a pin 4 is non- adjustably mounted on the drum wall. The hooks 3 are of sheet metal and each comprises a flat portion 3b to which the snare is connected and a cylindrical portion 3a which passes loosely around a pin 4. The portion 3a of each hook has a peripheral indentation 11 which bears against pin 4 so that each hook is universally adjustable relative to the pin, as shown in Figs. 2 and 4.
