784,955. Optical sound recording. LEMOINE, Y. July 29, 1955 [Sept. 10, 1954], No. 22010/55. Class 40 (2). A method of recording circular sound tracks for photo-electric musical instruments comprises the rotation of a sound-modulated light source 4 about the axis of a circular photographic plate 2. The source 4 is modulated by an oscillator 10 and supported with its aperture 6 and lens system 5 on a rotatable plate 3. The source is connected to the oscillator by slip rings (not shown in the Figure) and is adjustable radially on the plate 3 so that a number of tracks may be recorded on the plate 2. An exact number of wave-forms per revolution is obtained by stroboscopic means.
