Abstract
784,066. Step and repeat photoprinting apparatus. PICTORIAL MACHINERY, Ltd. June 29, 1955, No. 18745/55. Class 98(2) Such apparatus includes a register screen, carrying one or more reference marks or lines aligned with one or both directions of movement of a carrier for a transparency to be copied, behind or forming at least part of a surface for supporting the sensitive material to permit alignment of the transparency before the.sensitive material is inserted. As shown the apparatus, which is further described in Specification 784.068. has a lower slide 13 running on tracks 12 and an upper slide 15 (from which the lamphouse is broken away) running on tracks 14 which latter are mounted on the lower slide 13; and the register screen 21 with crossed reference lines 45 is mounted on a vertically movable bed (not shown but further described in Specification 784,067), beneath the slides. A lamp may be provided beneath the register screen 21 to facilitate alignment' of the transparency which latter is secured to the lower face of a sheet of glass 46 carried by a transparency carrier or unit holder (not shown but further described in Specification 784,069) depending from the upper slide 15.
